Day 2 - Driving...

Today was spent driving... 754 miles to be exact. It's a long drive so far, but I truly believe that it will all be worth it! I have another 522 miles to go tomorrow, but only about 7 hours and 40 minutes from here until I'm at Rainbow Reef's door in Key Largo, so the day will be much shorter in the car.

I had a nice stop in North Carolina to visit an old dive buddy - he and I completed rescue diver together a number of years ago. He was rooting through some things the other day and came across his uncle's old dive gear, and was gracious enough to give me a vintage aqua-lung "Cousteau Era" double hose regulator.  I will be proudly displaying it at the shop once we open. I'm glad to have finally returned his aluminum cylinders - freshly inspected and filled and ready to go! We just got another order of cylinders in - the wife called and said there's all these boxes on the porch!

Speaking of the wife - it's our third anniversary today.  She's been so supportive of this venture - including letting me leave on our anniversary - that I have to give her a ton of credit for a lot of this.  Without her caring, support and love - Central Pennsylvania Scuba might not be a reality, and I don't know if I would have taken the "leap" for either that or the IDC.

I'm staying in Georgia, the state I was born in.  Some say I get my "laid back, laissez-faire" attitude from my southern blood.  I was only here for a total of three days before my parents whisked me away to New York City...

I'm looking forward to starting to write some posts about DIVING... so, hopefully starting tomorrow we'll get to that fun stuff.

In any case, it's been a long day, my eyes and my seat are tired... I'm staying at a Holiday Inn Express, so hopefully, their advertisement is on target and I'll get a really good night's rest, and be bright eyed in the morning.
